What do people thing is the best pad to use for street fighter? I don't want to buy a stick as they are too much and wondered if the Dual shock is better than the sixaxis pad

    Thanks

The are both the same...the Dual shock is a bit heavier that's it.

I'm tempered with SF but not without a arcade stick.

The way I see it is the DS3 has a better D-Pad than the 360 controller so I'm getting the game on PS3.

I don't see what's wrong with the Six-Axis/DS3 for SFIV, althogh I haven't played it yet. I wouldn't mind an arcade stick though, but I wouldn't buy another controll pad.

Street Fighter on a pad doesn't work imo, SF needs six buttons and using the bumper button has too much travel and doesn't feel as fluid.

Not sure if there's a demo of Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix on PS network, but you can see how it plays on that.

It plays exactly like it did on the snes/megadrive.

That's what I'm thinking, but I haven't played IV so I wouldn't want to guess if the controls would be the same.

I believe playing with an arcade stick is better, although last time I used one must have been over a decade ago. I'm just saying I don't think there is much point buying a diferent pad. I would go for an arcade stick if I had the money.

As far as I remember the old Street Fighter games were fine on a pad.

it's still on a 2d plane, and the basics of a fighting game are the same, so you won't have a problem.

The Sega Saturn pad is the best pad ever made for fighting games, ask this in any fighting game forum and this will be your answer. The new SFIV madcatz pads are supposed to be good, its design was based on the Saturn pad, though I doubt they will be as durable as an official Sega produced Saturn pad.

Look on Ebay and search Sega usb, these are official Saturn pads made for PC but it works perfect on the PS3. The sellers are from Hong Kong and trustworthy, at the moment the average price is around £20. These pads were going for around £6-7 a few month ago when I bought several for me and friends, these sellers did'nt know what they had.

Great idea and great info. Can't believe they use to be as cheap as that as well.

I was tempted by the Madcatz SFIV pads when I was pre-ordering the game, but the all over graphics put me off. I just want my pads to look plain, like the OE black Sixiaxis/DS3 pads. If nothing else better comes along then there might be some retro customizing of the Madcatz ones going on.
