Erm, how about the Sony DVP-S735 or the Pioneer 737, both from www.techtronics.com ?

    Heard good things about both.

Have spent a few Saturday afternoons auditioning some equipment and have tried all sorts of players through the same monitor.

I love the styling of the Sony 735, looks great in my equipment rack.

The Toshiba 500e was nice, but yucky finish.
Allthough styling not everything, I didn't like the tosh.

The Pioneer 737 has an unusual bulky appearance, almost identical to the previous 717, but its looks are indeed elegant. It "looks" like a serious piece of equipment.

Putting the styling aside, the performance is the important issue here. All three of these players are superb, I've tried all of them at home, with some of my problem discs and my money will definately be going on the Pioneer DV 737. Superb all round performance.
But Don't take my word for it, contact your nearest dealer to see if you can try out these players at home!

    good luck

    Paul :p
