Best multi-region for under £150

My mate is looking to buy his 1st DVD player this Christmas, so I'm doing some research for him. He's looking for a multi-region player and would probably prefer to buy from a shop rather than the net.
What would people recommend as the best in this category ?

Im looking to get a Pioneer DV-454/350

Have a look on the site for your local store. Im too, not going to buy it of the net.

Or you could get a Toshiba 220e From Richer sounds for about £135'ish Multi region. Just find your local RS on there website too.

Alot of people will suggest you get the Toshiba, as it is a amazing machine.

Also check out the Sony dv-405 which come out the tops in CD playback.

Just dont go to Comet/currys/dixons ! WASTE OF MONEY AND TIME


As a First time Buyer I would recommend The Toshiba. (I will be buying the Pioneer because I have the matching amp)

Bought my son a multi region Kiro from Amazon, delivered next day. £89 at the time.

It works great and I can see no signs of poor quality. Only thing my Tosh 210 has over it is component out.

No problem with any dvds so far from our collection of region 1 and 2.
