Been looking for a decent mid range 4K UHD TV for around max £550. I like the look of the LG 49SK8000 and Philips 50 PUS7383/12. Any advice and recommendations welcome. Thanks in advance.

If you don't need wide viewing angles the Hisense U7A @ 55" bigger and better spec than anything for the same price.

At 50" tv's tend to be lower spec. Even the 50" Hisense U7A only uses a 60hz instead of 120hz panel which makes most 50" models have worse motion performance.

If you need wider viewing angles try to stretch to the LG SK8500 at 49" as it comes with both local dimming and a 120hz panel which is rare at that size. It should be only slightly out of budget right now as its in clearance from 2018.

Both Hisense U7A at 55" and LG SK8500 at 49/55" are stonking value right now and knock the other TVs out of the water.

Thanks for your reply. I'm considering a TV ideally 50 inches max. I'll take a look at the LG 49SK8500 as per your advice and will also consider the Hisense. I've also been looking at the Samsung 49NU8000, but this seems to be out of my price range at the moment.

The 49" NU8000 much like many sub 55" models is only using a 60hz panel and therefore isn't really that much better than cheaper 50" TVs at similar price.

If you don't need wide viewing angles I would recommend both the Sony X85 and XF90 beneath 55" as they are the only models that use both VA panels and with 120hz refresh rate for better motion.

The next best is the LG SK8500 which retains the 120hz panel but you loose good blacks and contrast with an IPS type panel.
