Since ive got my PS3 ive watched two BluRay films - Casino Royale and SWAT,. There was a noticeable difference between the two in terms of picture quality - Casino Royale being the much better. The while reading the latest issue of Home Cinema I read how SWAT was one of ' Sonys early M-PEG 2 efforts'. So what are the BluRays that are out atm that are top quality. I'll start the list - Casino Royale

The Tier Thread on AVSforum is your best bet for seeking superior image quality BD's.
I thought Casino Royale looked quite good but Black Hawk Down is the best I've seen.

Id have to disagree. Thought Casino Royale looked better. Also I would say Kingdom of Heaven looks better than BHD. Animated films look very good too.

My copy of Casino Royale arrived yesterday and having given it a spin last night I would have to say I have better looking SD DVDs in my collection.

Its strange that some people can't see a difference. I thinks its all to do with what set up you have.

Also some people have an eye for what makes a good picture. Like some people think good picture means good colour and some like good shadows. Some people only look at how sharp a picture looks and some like a natural picture. Some people like a digital looking picture and some like classic film grain.

Its all down to opinion.

i would have to say casino royale is far and away the best looking blu ray title ATM,it is up they with my hd dvds when it comes to pq quailty.

If you are using a PS3 mate sure you have 1080i selected otherwise it will default to 480p which is no better than an SD-DVD.

open season and happy feet are 2 must haves-great picture
for showing off with:)

The Wild is also a good demo disc I think

wasnt too impressed with Black Hawk Down myself - only because of the directors vision making it more difficult to judge the quality per se

i am legend, kung fu panda and rambo are all great demos

im guessing you mean the original and the deluxe version? the only difference between these is the deluxe has an extra disk which i presume is behind the scenes and the making of. the quality of main feature film will be the same on both

The original Casino Royale had a thunderous PCM track, the Deluxe version has a True HD track.Should sound the same.

Cars,Wall.e,Indy 4 all look great.

As Ian says the original has a PCM soundtrack so the new one is a different master.

Cheers
