Hello all, I have been looking around for the best possible hdtv
projector under $2500. Now lumens is of big concern because of
ambient lighting. I really don't want anything under 1000 Lumens.
Also lamp life of about 3000 hours would be prefered as well. I was
looking at the Mitubishi XD300u, but I believe it is a native 4:3
projector. I emailed Mits and they said it can run in 16:9 mode, but
wouldn't that be stretched 16:9. I was also looking at the Infocus
X1, which seems phenominal for $900. Anyway all suggestions would be
    great.

    Thank you

    Greg

Probably over your budget but the HS10/20 are both high lumen output projectors with high resolution panels (you did say HDTV :)) & are probably the best available if you're going to have a degree of ambient light.

The X1 is only VGA (800x600) & really an entry level PJ (rainbow issues). It's also a 4:3 panel PJ, the Sonys are 16:9.

    BTW, welcome.
