Best format for external drive?

Hi guys, I'm using a Mac and have a couple of external drives that I'd like to load mkv files onto to play on my new Sharp Aquos telly, currently they're all DOS Fat formatted, will the EX FAT format versions work for tv use?

Telly hasn't arrived yet, just trying to organise all my files.

I'd be very surprised if exFAT worked, Sharp just list FAT support which could be just FAT32 and TV media players tend to not go the extra mile on features.

If it does support exFAT then that would be preferable to FAT32 as it does not have the 4GB file limit.

Thanks, will have to reformat a drive to exfat and give it a go. It's why I'd prefer to use that - so I can get my MKV's playing.
