The Viewsonic VX910 has been mentioned on some other threads in the HCPC forums. I was a bit sceptical at first but after reading some reviews on the OCUK forum, it definately seems an excellent screen.

The specs may seem similar but there are lots of differences between how the screens perform. Often it is best to take a look in store if possible.

Personally I have a Hercules 17" 920 Pro and would rate it as the best monitor/screen I have used.

The ViewSonic VX910 is still the one I'm going for.

It's currently the only 19" screen with a 16ms response time (claimed).

The trouble is getting hold of one...

Dabs.com do them, as do overclockers (as Sinzer has said) and also microdirect, but no-one has one in stock.

Dabs are saying 10 days, and I have asked the other two for an idea of when they might be getting hold of them.

The cheapest I have found them is at microdirect - £358.32 inc VAT.

ebuyer.com are offering a 19" monitor with a 25ms response time for £281.99 including VAT which seems to be extremely cheap. Have a look here

I know it's not the only thing by which one should judge TFT screens, but if the VX910 fulfills its promise then I'll be delighted.

The only problem is that 25ms will likely be bad for games. The cheap TFTs are a false economy we use plenty of them in work and even on IE or Word they blur badly when scrolling down the screen.

I've been looking around for the Viewsonic as well, pleased to see some stock actually arriving ! If someone else manages to get one before me, perhaps you can let us know what you think of it.

I have seen a Dell 19" TFT in action and it didn't have a great response rate but the picture whilst playing UT2004 was unbelievable! I think the DVI connection helps alot. I think ghosting images is due to a lot first generation TFT's. But I would like someone to prove me wrong as I am going to buy a 19" TFT before the end of the year.

If your graphic card has a DVI output, I would use it. I think analogue TFT are a bit old hat now.

Yes the VG910 is a 25ms model, and I knew about the 12ms VX912, but so far couldn't find any release dates!

Besides, I've waited so long for this new PC that I could wait forever unless I just buy the components now, regardless of what's coming out next.

However, if someone can find a VX912 with an imminent release date, then please let me know.

We must also remember that the difference between 16ms and 12ms is virtually undetectable, and is a claimed, typical response time anyway.

just been looking at this sharp 19 inch from ebuyer

    http://www.ebuyer.com/customer/prod...2hvd19wcm9kdWN0X292ZXJ2aWV3&product_uid=62687

    info/spec
The narrow frame design of the Sharp LL191AB requires less setup space while the large 19" screen rpovides a generous work area, With a super fast response time of 16ms this display is ready for multimedia tasks like video editing and for action gaming
only downside no dvi but at only 315 pounds what u reckon

Why not go for the cheaper Viewsonic from scan.co.uk which has DVI? I would prefer that to a lower quoted response time.

Even though there is no DVI input, I read the review and came across an interesting one, this might change my mind to purchase one of these...

Bought this a week ago and absolutely delighted by the standard of finish and the picture quality. Upgraded from a 4 year old Hansol 17 inch CRT which looks awful in comparison. Had some reservations with the lack of DVI but these were unfounded. The picture is crystal clear, the response time perfect for video and no dead pixels evident. Speakers are weak, but apart from that highly recommended.
