It's great to see millions of dollars spent on a movie to find a hilarious mistake in it.

For one example, has anyone seen the film 'Escape From L.A'? That scene at the end when the baddie picks up the tube that's supposed to be a rocket launcher and you can see the building behind through it was hilarious.

Can't believe nobody in Continuity dept spotted it!

    Any faves amongst you buffs?

    Dan.

I think the all time greatest must be the stormtrooper knocking his helmet against the ceiling in Star Wars.

one i spotted was in sideways, where they are at the bar towards the start of the film and the girl puts her wine glass down on the bar, then she is still holding it when the camera changes angles! (must've been some fine wine)

The best one I've seen is the boom mike being visible in "Star Trek VI - The Undiscovered Country" while Shatner et al were walking down a corridor. That scene even made it into the trailer :)

Hang on - I'll go and find out when it appears (I have all 10 in a box set)

Dammit - I can't see it i my DVD version. I *know* it was there in a VHS copy I've watched - I even pointed it out to a friend at the time.

Not a visual howler but in Cronicles of Riddick when they arrive at the 'Prison Planet' (crematoria?) they mention it is 700 degrees in the day and -300 degrees during the night.

When night falls they all go for a run along the surface... bit chilly -300 degrees lol :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

I think they edited it out in the later releses.
In it the also see the Wookie with trainer soles and in the Return of the Jedi the dance at the begining she shows a little more than she was suppose to.

There is a site somewhere on the net with a lot of the gaffs.

Commando: everytime someone gets it from a grenade you can see the springboard pop up under their feet.

Matrix 2: (and loads of others) in the chase scene when one of the cars go end-over-end the engine bay is empty... and in slow-mo too, that is soooo bad...

Haha no, they left it on the DVD, and even enhanced it, by adding a realistic "boink" noise when he hits his head. :D

And yeah, that blunder in ROTJ is a good excuse to use the slow mo button on the remote. ;)

One of the worse I can think of is in the original version of Aliens. When Ripley is preparing to find newt she ties a flame thrower to a pulse rifle. As she puts the Flame thrower down the close up shot shows the pulse rifle and when she puts the pulse rifle down the close up shows a flame thrower. A basic editing mistake which was rectified in the SE.:suicide:

Doesn't Commando have the self-repairing Porsche?
Y'know, the front seat he rips out appears again and also the smashes on the side disappear I think!

IMDB is great, use it all the time.

Not only that, but there's a moment in "Attack of the Clones" when Jango Fett bangs his head on the door of his spaceship - this was placed in there to suggest that stormtroopers banging their heads on doors might possibly be the result of genetic predisposition. :)

There's an impressive continuity gaffe in "The Two Towers" in one of the scenes where Frodo and Sam are in Faramir's secret HQ behind the waterfall. In the earlier part of the scene they are standing in front of some very large barrels which mysteriously vanish before the scene ends. In "The Fellowship Of The Ring" you can spot that Christopher Lee has a bandaged finger when he is standing on top of Orthanc and invoking bad weather at Caradhras. I gather that in the original cinema cut you can also see a car in one aerial shot, but this was CGI-ed out for the extended version. :)

    HI,

One of the best movie gaffes for me, is in Terminator 2, during the motorcycle/truck chase/rescue of John Connor sequence.

The T-1000 ends up with the truck windscreen being shot to hell, by Arnie's shotgun, only to end-up being punched-out (the windscreen, not Arnie) by the T-1000. Seconds later, the screen is out. Then it's in. Then it's unbroken. Then half-hanging out... etc.

A complete balls-up in the continuity department, and on a film that cost $100 million (circa 1991), truly unforgiveable...

... but very funny, nonetheless! :rotfl:

A weird on in Hard to Kill as I remember, is when the villains attack the house where the hero is recuperating. The is a scene just after where there is a jeep and the driver and reg plate swaps sides but the reg read correct all the time so is not a clip back to front.

There's a man going for a walk in London in 28 days later when the streets are empty, but tbh they did an amzing job of capturing a deserted London never mind that recorded approx 5am etc.

Still, no idea what the walker must have thought of the main guy in a hosptial gown shouting around at 5am.:D
