    Hi,

You are right; it is difficult to find the best screen, as there are many brands, many types and many claims.
I won't claim to know which single one is best, as I haven't seen every single one out there (nor do I want to just promote our own).
Determining the best screen also depends on your requirements, for example:
    - A screen that's the easiest to install, might not be the best in terms of screen fabric flatness
    - A screen that has a perfectly flat fabric, might come with a case design that doesn't suit your taste

These are just the trade-offs on the screen level only. However, if you are looking for the best screen for your specific situation, a lot more comes into play, such as room characteristics, equipment used, ambient light and personal preferences.

I am sorry if this is a dissapointing answer, because you were hoping to see a specific brand and model.
    My recommendation would be to:
    1. Make a top 3 of items on which you want the screen to do well
    2. Make a shortlist of screens based on these criteria
    3. Check forums, magazines and dealers for experiences with the screen
    4. See if you can actually see or test drive the screen with your projector
    5. If you are happy with what you have seen, go ahead / recheck your criteria / test one of the others on the shortlist

A custom installer or knowledgable dealer in screens might be able to save you a lot of time and offer the services which allow you to find the right one for you.

    Good luck,

    Otto

    Thank you Otto!!

I appreciated your honest opinion.. I have the InFocus IN76 which will be 9feet from screen. What size would you recommend for dark viewing?
Could you PM me your best price on a Beamax electric please?

    Thanks :smashin:

Stewart Filmscreen Luxus Model A Studiotek 130 should be on your "to view" list.

I have the InFocus IN76 which will be 9 feet from screen.
Going by the InFocus website, from this distance, I can have a 1.8 meter WIDE screen.

I saw a Projecta electric screen today. They look really good in the matt white.
Who are the cheapest suppliers of Projecta?

    Thanks all :smashin:

A quick search on one of the price comparison sites should show who's cheapest. If you cannot find the screen your looking for there, try searching for Projecta in google/UK.
    Hope this helps.

I got an in76 with a 7ft Grandview cyber ekectric screen and for the money thought it was great. when i went to purchase the package i was looking at a tab tensioned screen but when seeing them side by side the cyber screen looked just as flat as the tensioned one. The material didnt let any light through, as it was installed infront of my bay window, was a low gain and the screen case looked attractive with the built in IR on the wall too. My wife was happy.

hope this is of help, would definatly reccomend it
