Why wouldn't they honour it? Soon don't cancel orders once they've accepted them.

I dont think they have thought about the implications of the fidelity card and hardware orders like the PSP. After shipping that lot is definately well below cost. I have had the confirmation email so fingers crossed.

Does that PSP work ok in the UK? Are there any voltage issues etc?

I think that is the best bargain found yet on DVDSoon.

Also, can you post a link to it. A quick search for Sony or PSP brings up nothing via DVDsoon's excellent search engine!

I thought that would happen. Looks like they have pulled it from the site :( I`m glad I ordered mine straight away, I hope I still get it. The product number is 136913 but no sign of it at all on the site as far as I can see.

Sony handheld devices normally come with dual voltage power supplies. This is to save money when they are manufacturing them.

I bought a Sony DVD camcorder in the states in Jan. It has a dual volatage supply. I have bought several Sony portable devices in America in the past and they have all come with dual voltage supplies.

The games for the PSP are multi region the films will be region one but cheaper and I wont really be buying the movies anyway.

I forgot as well as the 10 films and PSP the £140 includes 12 months Fidelity card membership

According to the order confirmation email :

"your credit card is charged the moment the transaction is completed, even if your order is under verification."

If they have taken my money I want the gear. This one is going to hurt them bad, loads of people have gone in for the PSP, I noticed when I ordered it was ranked 55 in all time DVDSoon sales chart

If they dont honour it they will loose some serious good will.

Be warned that all the items I've ordered with a dvdsoon discount offer have been marked full price on the shipping label.

Well it wont be more than £40 I would think (vat + import duty + handling charge)

Only if you get caught. DVDsoon dont usually use couriers for standard shipping so there a chance it wont get picked up anyway.

As I said before even if you have to pay it, still £50 less than launch price here, plus you get it at least two months early with possible free film

If you look at the current import prices for these things its a steal if you actually get one at this price. On the marked shipping value I would definately challenge if they incorrectly mark the price paid.

Legally they can only charge duty on what you have paid for it. I have an invoice showing what I have paid for the lot which is $330 canadian including shipping fees. So thats what they are legally allowed to charge duty on. If DVDSOOn incorrectly complete the shipping label its not my problem and its actually a criminal offence in this country.

If you see the customs thread on the DVD Talk forum, it details how to get the customs part of the charge back if you have been unfairly charged duty. Post office charge is another issue though.

Thanks Greg you are correct. You always have to pay the standard handling charge anyway. At this price, I fully expect and am happy to pay the import duty. But I will only be paying what is legally required.

Just noticed this on the site :

    "Partial shipping

Partial shipping is currently offered to DVDSoon.com clients free of charge and will be automatically applied when you place your order. Ergo, the items in your order will be shipped to you as we receive stocks. "

For me this is good news as most items I have ordered are either currently out of stock or on Pre order. Therefore they are likely to be shipped individually reducing / elimitating much of import duty.

I'm not sure that's true otherwise we would all be ordering American subwoofers and other hardware to be delivered to American relatives and friends duty free who would then ship it over to us as a gift.

Fraid not. I am told by Finnish customs that EU law states that the price declared on the parcel must be the price that is available to all persons (i.e. before membership discounts). You pay duty and vat based upon this price, not the membership discounted price.

Don't ask me why. I think its bonkers.

There's been big discussions about this on dvdf; if you take this to an extreme example to make a point -

imagine a £1000 club membership which entitles you to 300 dvd's at a penny each ...

should the dvd's really be marked up at 1p ?
