Finally invested in DTS amp + speakers the other day, the quality totally blew me away, just as picture quality of DVD did when I first saw it.

Now I want to know, what are the very best DVD's for showing off DTS/DD? Not necessarily the best films, just the very best DTS effect?

Thanks in advance for your suggestions!

Easy, Saving Private Ryan R1 DTS.
This disc is still my audio demo disc. The D-Day landing is simply out of this world.

Any DTS I have tried will impress ...
    SPR has already been mentioned
For music IMHO Hell Freezes Over has no equal
For films I highly rate The Bone Collector ; MIB ; Galaxy Quest ; T2 - UE ... [IMG]

Poor film but some great DTS moments: The Haunting.

Also if the DTS DVD's are as good as the LDs I have then Jurassic Park and The Lost World are essential purchases.

Saving Private Ryan is the best.

As mentioned above, The Haunting is also a fantastic DTS demo movie (track 17 - same as on the DTS demo disc), Also T2 Ultimate, Galaxy Quest and Twister.

I thought the DTS track on The Bone Collector had some stunning moments on it too!

just wait a little longer and then you'll have the perfect demo disc, Gladiator. I'm looking forward to something very special. They are doing the sound the same way as they did for the Haunting (I'm talking 'bout the R1): DTS-ES 6.1 discrete from Brand new 7 channel, 24-bit master. The DTS Haunting made DD version pale by comparison, and that's being nice. Now we'll see a great film and great sound together in the shape of Gladiator.

    DTS: Galaxy Quest, MIB
DD: The 5th Element (good movie, too), ID4 (not so good movie)
DTS&DD: Roy Orbison - Black and White Night

Everyone else has said it all really, but I thought I'd add my vote as a long time advocate of DTS.

Saving Private Ryan is still the best around - simple awesome. Take your pick from any of these though:

    Galaxy Quest
    Pitch Black
    T2 UE
Twister (for the sound, NOT for the film)
    Jurassic Park

    Why not add:

    The Bone Collector
    Small Soldiers
