    Hi there,

I reckon on this player as it has dual layer capacity,i link for digi cams and writes to all formats except dvd ram.I have seen this for £159.00 on ebay and think this is a real bargain.

Yes, I was tempted by the Sony 210, but didn't go for it based on the problems reported with RGB pass-through. I went for the Panasonic DMR-ES20 instead...but that doesn't have a DV-Input. Still makes nice recordings from my camcorder via s-video and has freeview, though.

Hi I bought the Sony HX710 from Pixmania for £306.00, OK not UK stock, European, comes with a full Sony Pan European warranty, has 160gb, DV in, Dual layer, and you can hook your old video recorder up to it, they only thing it doesnt do is SACD and DVDRAM.

Its the 1st time I've bought from Pixmania and I'm still playing with the machine, as it only arrived 10 days ago, but like you I wanted all of the above and only had a £300 budget, this will probably retail for £499 when it hits the UK shops, so IMHO it was worth a punt for such a large saving.

    Cheers

Does it just have a normal analogue tuner when it's a European model? I'm assuming it's not the Freeview one that the UK version has...

    Hi Helen

Yes just the analogue tuner, again this wasn't a problem for me as I have the Sky+.

    Cheers
