The reviewer has asked people to nominate their favourite DVD of 2002. Clearly he's going to be inundated by the usual suspects:
    Monsters Inc
    Harry Potter
    Blade 2
    Black Hawk Down
    AOTC
    FOTR
    etc etc

More interestingly he's asking people about films that were perhaps not huge hits. But do you know what, I'm really struggling to think of interesting DVDs that weren't mainstream, sure there've been a few odd movies that will no doubt be looked upon as classics (e.g. Mullholland Drive) but they've hardly been great DVDs.

So, does anyone have any "interesting" nominations?

I guess they're only referring to UK dvds?

Project A (Platinum) Hong Kong Legends
HKL have released many excellent discs this year, but this 2 disc set really stands-out.
Evil Dead (Book Of The Dead Edition)

Haven't bought many R2 dvds this year (apart from HKL). These 2 I wouldn't term 'mainstream' & whether or not you personally like the films they are IMO excellent in terms of packaging & extra content.

Was Pearl Harbor this year? That was a quality dvd - although I think it fits into the mainstream gategory!!

    Moulin Rouge (digipack special edition)
Memento Special Edition (or was that 2001?)
Final Fantasy: the spirits within (shame about the film!)
Star Trek: the slow motion picture

I am sure there are plenty more... :)
