Can anyone please advise what the best dvd player would be for my current setup.

Budget is tight but I would like something worthy of the rest of the kit.

    Panasonic TH42PWD8BS > Denon 1906 AV Amp > What DVD ?

    Must be multiregion too.

    Any help greatfully received!

I was in the same position as you, i went for a Denon 1720 multi region but was toying eith the idea of a Pioneer 575, the pio plays dvd-a and sacd if you use these disc formats, also what inputs are on your panasonic- if it has hdmi you may consider upping the budget to the denon 1920 which plays the sacd and dvd-a and it has a hdmi socket and is a pretty damm good dvdplayer for the money (apparently) but thats just what ive learnt over the last months so dont take my word for it, try a couple out at your local hi-fi and av shop

Inputs on the Plamsa will be component + vga initially. I will run the sky+ via a component to vga converter.
I will also have direct component from amp to screen.

On this basis I was thinking about the Denon 1720 multiregion as a starting point wiht a view to upgrading to hdmi in the future.

Is the 1720 the best value for money is what I need to know!

    Cheers.
