my brother in law has a panasonic ae300 pj and had recently bought a panasonic s97 dvd player to benefit from the better connection to his pj via hdmi/dvi. i am not entirely sure what cable he has purchased to connect between the 2 but he is getting no picture.

can anyone advise what is his best connection route other than component. he thinks that the s97 is not compliant with the ae300 and he may have to upgrade his pj to get the best from the dvd player :lease:

IIRC the DVI connector on the AE300 doesn't support HDCP, if that's the case then he would be correct in thinking that he can't connect the S97 to it using that method .. Component would be the best quality analog connection. IMHO upgrading the pj simply to use a digital feed from the DVD is slightly excessive :)
