I've plumped for the cheaper option of the Pinnacle PCTV Rave.
I'll be installing it once Roland has installed my projector (I don't want to risk my setup before then!)

I am now forced (for a bit) to use composite to connect my digibox to my AV amp.

Any recommendations? I remember Jeff saying something about Composite over S - anyone know anything about this?

    Cheers
    Alex

The best composite cable is no composite cable :D

Composite over s-video just means that you can connect a composite source to the svideo socked using a special adapter and the chip will know to treat it as composite rather than svideo.

Thinking about it if you did want to use a good off the shelf cable then a SCART to svideo might work well as long as you use the composite over svideo setting.

    Thanks John
So will my av amp pass this through ok?

And will the Scart to S need modding or is any ok?
I currently use one to go from my dvd player to my telly can I just use this?

It should work OK without modding, it will just look like a b&w s-video picture to anything else.

OK - I've tried this but dScaler is just showing a blue screen when I switch to Composite over S-Video.

Does something need to be changed somewhere else.
I've got the Sky box outputting 'PAL' (as opposed to RGB) and I've already got it working through RF (shockingly bad!).
I can't think what else to do!

As you say the PCTV card shouldn't care about the signal but any ideas?

    Cheers
    Alex
