Can someone recommend a really good component cable, what is everyone else using ?
Supra AV3 is a very good, mid-price solution:
(It's the second cable down, after the SCART)
I'm using three x 3M 75Ohm Van Damme cables, £30 for the set.
I did use the Supra av3 but have to say I wasn`t impressed.I now use Monster Video mv3cv which I bought off ebay from Us and I am very pleased with it.
I am sure a lot will disagree with me on Supra but I see an improvement using the Monster cable.
I use Silver Serpent from BetterCables http://www.bettercables.com for both component and VGA leads.
Very good cables indeed.
I use "Precious Metal" component cables. No website, No fancy packaging, all the money goes into making the finest video cables i have seen to date. £90 for 1mtr available from all B&B HiFi stores.
or you could use Nordost Optix if you want the BEST quality! i use Audioquest myself, very good performance for approx £100 for a 1m one.
StooMonster - you may (or may not ) be happy to hear I've just signed up with bettercables to start selling their products in the UK - just putting together our first order so do let me know if you have anything on the shopping list at present!
Richard - I'd also recommend you look at VanDamme its an unknown name in the Consumer market that we supply big time into our Corporate market and have been using them on Home Cinema installs and systems for about two years now with great results at very affordable prices.
PS We also do the Supra range - got the lot as they say!
I've had customers using the Bettercables with my Plasma VGA box, with excellent results. VDC are excellent too. Not tried Supra - yet.
All the best,
Dr John Sim.
At the risk of getting him banned......X3ELS (Elliot)'s diy digital cable also happens to be the best component cable I have come across. It is under £100 for a set of 3.
