I am about to splash £300 on a new camera, from my own research I intend to buy a Canon A80 Powershot. Anybody disagree, is there better value for money on the market?

    Cheers

I know the A70 is a good unit, and if the feedback from www.dpreview.com is positive, then it will be a good choice.

Just check out all the usual suspects for the best price

I bought a Canon Powershot S30 last Christmas for £400 and the more I use it, the more impressed I am by it 's capabilities! It is very familiar in use to my Canon EOS 100 SLR due to the similar command dial. Has all the usual modes (program, shutter priority, aperture priority, etc), exposure compensation, even flash output compensation. I imagine you can now get all this functionality, and more for £300.
Have a good look at the current Canon range and Good Luck!
