3 strand av copper screened cables with red/black/yellow phonos either end do just as well and cost about £1.50 a meter. Component is a very robust signal and really doesn't suffer from degradation or crosstalk. (if you need a BNC rather that phone connection at either end then bnc to phono adaptors are about £1 each & you need 3)

3 metre long, gold plated connectors, costs £4.50

Be very careful using cables that *look* the same to do a different job. Many red/black/yellow cables will only have a single 75ohm core (since the other two are designed for audio). Cheaping out on cable will only strangle your system needlessly. If you're looking for component there's a guy in the Powerbuy forum making up decent leads using Belden cores and Canare plugs - can't recomend much better than those.

I hate people talking [email protected]$ks about cables.
Buy the cheap one, if you ain't satisfied with it buy an expensive one.
Then kick yourself when you realise you been conned by a salesman
with a 400% markup on silly priced cables. Let's face it online sales
of plasmas don't make you much money, but if you can talk some mug
into buying a few extra £70 cables, you laughing all the way to the bank!

    PS
Phono/RCA connects were designed for audio only, BNC is the connect for
video. If you gonna chuck away the design spec for the connects, you may
as well forget the cable spec too.
    PPS
Changing a cable spec from 75ohm to 50ohm is well within modern design parameters.
    PPPS
If you want to be really picky, plug yellow wire to Luminance as it has a 1v peak signal, and other 2 wires to Component signals as they have 0.5v peak signals (not that it will matter anyways)
