Can anyone advise the best cable option to get the most out of my un-modified Xbox?

I am currently using the standard leads that come with it - assumption is that a decent quality RGB Scart lead would be the next best option to a fully fledged prog scan set up?

Any pointers on relevant cable manufacturers also greatly appreciated.

    Thanks in advance

I have recently changed from the official advanced scart lead to the offical component lead, and it is a noticably better picture IMO.

I am planning to soft mod my Xbox to make it progressive, and will hopefully get a better image still.

If you have got a TV that can handle component, I would go for this cable (or the IXOS equivalent).

    Thanks for the response.

I have found the following IXOS cables...

    http://www.tvcables.co.uk/cgi-bin/t...group/se=Gaming Cables/op=eq.html?id=jdjMkhTY

Component video wont be an option as I am already using this connection on my TV for a DVD player. I do have a free RGB Scart input though so figured the Ixos Scart cable would most likely be the best option.

Would appreciate any comments on this matter, cheers!

Actually, think I am going to go with the official MS advanced scart lead.

Thinking about it, you are probably best off with the MS lead - it has the option for an optical out connection, which the IXOS doesnt IIRC.

I have an official MS Advanced SCART lead that you can have for £10 inc if you are interested.

Forget the IXOS cables, you cant get Dolby Digital with them The doughnuts have not included an optical output on any of there leads !!!!.

I have had both Monster cables (very expensive) and the official Mucrosoft cable, I could not tell them apart.

    Go for the official one.
