Hey @Steve Withers & All the people at avforums.

I'd just like to say how much i enjoy your "Best Of" during this time of year, i forward them onto people i know as i'm often the "Guy people call if you're buying a TV or sound system" in the family. It's probably the one place i really trust a "Best Of" list

      Really great work.

SOUNDBARS: IMO especially SONY XD9305 the TV sound is deliberately distorted in order to sell soundbars. My previous TV was the excellent Samsung UEH 6700 55" which I very much regret selling. The sound was so good that I hardly ever bothered to put it through my excellent 5.0 speakers set up. I can not listen to the sound on my Sony XD9305 55" (should have listened more carefully before purchase) it is no thinner than my previous Samsung , so I had to buy a Soundbar the very good Yamaha YSP 1600 which I only use in 2 ch. mode. As for easy set up the Owners Manual consists of 63 A4 sheets.

Definitely want an Atmos soundbar and definitely want that Yamaha. The Samsung is a no go with no DTS MA for Blu Rays.

But Yamaha's HDMI decisions, especially considering the price is a whole load of eggnog.

It really just sounds like you have a gripe with the Sony which is fine but I've seen you say the same thing in multiple posts now. The reason I say I think it's a gripe is cause you compalin about sound then follow it with a physical profile of the TV....

I feel I was totally ripped off by Sony, 2 Sony reps JL & Currys when the new TV first appeared told me that the XD93 had Freesat and it does not ,,I would have returned the TV but believe it or not still can not find a acceptable alternative. I do not like latest Samsung due to its stand & connect box, the Panasonic has badly designed too far apart feet that require a very large shelf and JL say screen is very reflective. The Sony does have a good picture and sensible central stand like my previous Samsung

Just picked up the Yamaha YSP 1600 from richer sounds to finally give my LG the much needed pickup it needs, on sale at £251 for a open box sale.

Sounds good and has some nice features.
