Wow, that's a bargain. That would be a great system for someone looking to get into home cinema. Add a set of £200 speakers to that and you are laughing.

I'm looking to spend around £200 on an AV receiver. I dont already have a Blu-Ray player (i have HD-DVD doh), so this looks like a great deal.

Anyone have any more thoughts on it, as i'm knew to the AV receiver market. Thanks

A reviewer on Amazon says that the Blu ray player is not surround sound. Can anyone confirm this?

does output surround sound in these formats and I have never heard of a BD what doesn't.

I am building up and system after selling my last system and might get this as a stop gap before buying the 709 or 809 later in the year.

The £508 receiver costs more than the offer at most retailers and best buy sells the 508 for £279 on its own.
