Could anyone please help me with what cheap sub to get for mainly music purposes?

I've got the Paradigm PS-1000 and the Mordaunt-Short MSW20 (suggested by RS) down on the list at the moment.

    Any ideas?

    Thanx, Matt

My money would go on the Paradigm PS1000, works well with both music & movies. In the end you need to demo them and choose what you think sounds best.:)

    Matt,

Give Hyperfi a call (I don't have there number on me but they advertise in What Hifi, the green/white edged ad), they "DID" have some Kef 30B for £175.

I have one and they're great, for the extra £25 you will be well pleased.

If they don't have any left they may be able to offer you something else at the price. Worth a phone call.

    Cheers,
    Too Tall.

Thanks everyone for the help, the KEF according to their website only goes down to 40Hz. Will this be adequate for watching movies?

IMHO, No. The Paradigm PS1000 goes down to 27hz +/- 3db and for the money is a great sub, obviously there are other subs out there that go lower but you´ll have to pay a lot more money for them.

The Aegis Sub looks cheap from hyperfi, reduced from £500 to £200. Doing a forum search on this sub doesnt show much info. Anyone know if this is a decent sub for music?

    Thanx, Matt

Didn't Gary G has a second hand KEF 30 for £75? seems a good bet to me, else the Paradigm already mentioned would be my pick.
