They're going to be a present so definately must be new, at the minute im thinking either Cambridge Audio S30's or Wharfdale Diamonds 9.1.

Ive also seen Kef C1's that look nice but ive never heard them.

They will only be for music...any other suggestions?

Cheers

Jamie

The fairly obvious suggestion (at least on this forum!) is the XTZ WMT - £155 delivered from the speakers powerbuy section.
I've been listening to these for about 2 weeks now and they're superb value for money. They blow the Mordaunt Short Avant 902i out of the water and are very, very close to, if not better than the Kef iQ3s. Haven't heard the 9.1s or S30s I'm afraid so I can't comment.
They're large and fairly distinctive-looking though.

The wharfedales look the part and are reviewed well. I'd be pleased to get them as a present. Plus they're only £110 brand new off ebay, leaving you enough to get them some booze as well!

or the acoustic energy neo 1 bookshelf speakers on ebay for £108 delivered ;)

you also cant rule out the tannoy mercury F1's - they are only £90 delivered

Monitor Audio BR1 are at the top of your budget but could be contender. I'd get the Wharfdales' personally.
