My brother needs a new 55" 4k hdr tv,
and i thought that this forum is the best possible way to find out.
Budget is limited around 500€
My personal experiences with Samsung are mixed
The last one is a 65js9000 of 2016, wich has 2 panels changed on warranty the first 2 years, and an older one le46a786 wich works flawless since 2009.
All in all i prefer another brand.
Any advice would be greatly helpful.
Thanks in advance

Can you stretch to Hisense H55U8B? It's the cheapest TV you can get in Europe that gets bright and has some dimming, even if it's edge dimming.
Cheapest good FALD TVs are the Sony XF9005 and Samsung Q70R, afaik. But they're way over your budget.
Good HDR is not cheap to get into.

I think the Sony is the way to go, my parents has one and they are very happy with it.
