I'm in the process of helping a m8 out with his low-budget HC system.
For the audio side of things I had recommended the Digitheatre 5.1 System, but he's a bit reluctant about the £180 retail price  (and wants something new).

As there are more and more budget sound systems about (even down at the local Safeways  ) I was just wondering what recommendations there are for a system that has all the same features as the 5.1 Digitheatre (ie. comes with amp, speakers, sub and decoder) and is almost as good but around the £100 mark?

I realise this sort of thing is sac-relig. around here but if you could bring yourself to answer it would be appreciated

Creative Inspire 5.1 5500?

I don't think it will sound very great but it's the cheapest thing I could find (about £130) with a decoder.

Videologic have a cheaper system at £150.

I'm not sure of the cost ... but PC World have a Packard Bell 5.1 system that looks and sounds (in store anyway) quite good!

Thanks for the replys, I will test my big ears against them :D
