    Hi All,

    I am new to this.

I am looking at purchasing my first good quality Audio equipment.

I am looking at the Denon CEOL Piccolo and the Q acoustic concept 20 speakers as a package.

Firstly, I want to know what people thought of this as an initial set-up?

I test them out at a store and really like the quality.

For me, Sound quality was of most importance.

I also want a unit that can connect to the internet / iphone so i can stream music/ play from multiple sources etc.

Now what my dilemma is, should i go for a 5.1 setup or stick with this 2.1 setup and maybe add a sub later...?

Are there better bundles at the £500-£550 mark out there..?

    thanks

    Hi and welcome

Seems to be a nice little setup and if you like what you hear, that's all that matters, but bare in mind that listening in a shop ( not demo room) and listening at home are 2 totally different things. Your room layout will be different and will have things in there that makes it a home a not a shop, like chairs, curtains, tables, shelf units, etc which attributes to how things sound.

With regards to 5.1, do you A) need a hdmi connectivity B) do you want surround sound, C) do you have room for 5.1? If A and/or B is not required, then C is nothing to worry about as 2.1 will do and stick with the Piccolo. If A or B is required, then you need an AV.

What other sources will be used and can the Piccolo handle that many sources?
I have a 2.0 setup in my dining room and i have a SB Touch, TV, UDP and cassette Deck all hooked up to a stereo amp. No sub required or needed as what this delivers bass wise is more than ample.
Music sounds great and Films just as good.

    Thanks for the advice.

I have gone with the Piccolo and Concept 20 speakers. Just waiting for delivery.

I will let you know how they sound when i install it.

    On another note.

Later down the line, if i was to add a Sub to my set-up, can you recommend any that would compliment this system.

Not looking to spend more than £300

    thanks

    Neal
