Best AV Receiver for DVI-I input only TV

I'd like to find out the best connection solution with my Phillips Cinoes 42" HD Plasma, the problem being that it only has a DVI-I input (http://www.havitnow.co.uk/Downloads/42pf9967d.pdf)

I am considering buying an AV Receiver with HDMI connectivity and using an HMDI - DVI Converter on the output from the Receiver to the TV, as i'm told keeping the signal to the TV as digital is best. Also I wish to connect up V+ box, an XBOX360 and a new DVD player (not yet chosen). However I am reading conflicting opinions on upscaling, some people adamant that the TV should do the upscaling itself and just have a standard DVD and Receiver solution with HDMI switching. This combined with the various analogue/digital conversions, HDCP problems with the V+ box, and cabling possibilities makes the choice very difficult for a rank amatuer like me. So any help or advice would be much appreciated!
