Best allround mini DV, ESPECIALLY indoor, for family camcorder?

I appreciate that similar threads have been started, but none are quite as specific as my request.

I'm not too concerned about multi features, just image quality and build.

I'd appreciate recommendations in the following price brackets:

Under £200
£200 - £350
£350 - £500

Urgently need to replace a 4 year-old Sony that has just died!

In the subject you say miniDV; do you want to limit the choice to miniDV, or would you consider other formats?

For your lower budgets, I'd go with miniDV

£200 - £350
Panasonic GS330

£350 - £500 is tricky. At the high end of the range, high def AVCHD models like the Sony SR10 (which is widely available just over £500), or maybe the Panasonic SD9. If you want an HDV model (which is compatible with mini-DV as well), the Sony HC9, but that is generally £600 or more, unless you can find a bargin. There were some cheap HC5 units available, but these seem to be hard to find now.

Having popped in to Jessops at lunchtime, and learned very little, I will now consider other formats.

As posted on another thread; as the (discontined) Panasonic SD5 is now available for £349, it becomes an attractive option in the £350 range.
