Hi, I am new here so I am not really sure how this works but can anyone recommend me a good 50-60 inch TV for gaming in the UK? I play a lot of competitive games such as Street Fighter and Tekken and the lag on my current TV is really bad. I believe my TV is starting to die out now so I am looking for a good replacement on the market right now. I have been searching the net for a while now so any help will be much appreciated, thanks!

This site has a database measuring input lag. I think it's the US versions but the equivalent EU models will be the same.

Display Lag | HDTV & Monitor Input Lag Database

Good starting point for finding the low lag models you're after then you can read reviews concerning their other features. Given the games you play competitively I'd definitely consult that site as it is exactly aimed at people like you!

Samsung plasma is best for gaming IMO, if you can find one get a Samsung E6500 or E550.
If you can't find one then either wait for the new sets or look at the Panasonic UT50 or ST50.

Plasma will give you low lag and better motion than LCD.

    Thanks for the reply guys!

After creating this topic, my TV became fine for a while but it has now literally burnt out. Now this might be a dumb question but I just want to be sure but is the Samsung 51" E550 Series 5 the same as PS51E550? Because apparently the PS51E550 it drops down to 16ms input lag when you rename the HDMI for your gaming port to PC. If they are the same then I won't hesitant on getting this TV.

    Thanks!

Yes sorry I can be lazy with model numbers.
My D6900 is the same, by re-naming an input to PC it turns of all processing, also works well with full RGB on the PS3 making some games look better IMO.
Lag is quite low on these sets anyway but Samsung do like to add extra processing, this ensures its all off.
