What do you think the best 5.1 speaker system in the world is to go with a 60inch plasma?
Have you upped your budget then, just trolling or what?
Depends how much they are... can't be overkill for the size of the screen.
You seem to put together pretty pointless questions really.
Have a couple of million to spend? and I am sure we can spec something for you that will be the best in the world. 60" is hardly a big screen either.
Jamo? M&K? KK? XZT?
Not even close
Can start on this list:
HigherFi-Ultimate - The Worlds Best and Most Expensive Speakers
What would be a better looking alternative to M&K and KK?
Mine..cost me 1.3 million....i'll gie you them for 2k
The best speakers in the world need to be matched with the best amps/processors. They'll sound ok with lower level amps, but just wouldn't be worth the extra money.
It also depends on system integration, source material and listening preferences. Then of course there is the room size, and accoustics.
When the Bristol show, ne of he things that impressed me about the massive, super high range speakers like the Dynaudio, is that it doesn't overwhelm. It sounds like a small speaker in an intiate room. So good speaker are just really good in that way.
If money and space is no object, you could see take a leaf from studios. Abbey Road for example use an array of B&W 800Ds. What Hifi as good as sai they are the best speakers money can buy.
Award winning Hollywood studios use the KK desigbed M&K speaker packages, and he is designing some radical pro level speakers for studios.
The question is actually not that easy to answer as one would think. I can understand if peopel think ou are trolling. But its a good exerie. The wealth of knowledge here is amazing, and it would be interesting to know what's on ppl's wish list.
Problem is a lot of the high end hifi speakers are designed and heard as stereo setups. Multichannel speakrs are quite another thing. 5 800Ds wouldn't necessarily be as good as a stereo pair.
If I have the money, I would fly across the pond and ask KK to make me one set, install and tune for me.
Or I can buy Russell a beer and pick his brain.
Why have you started a new thread when your other one appeared to be developing nicely? Why don't you continue with that one instead of asking the same questions here? I'll close this one for you to save effort.
