Could anyone tell me where to get the best deal on a Toshiba 42WH18B television. The best price i've seen was £1500.

I'm looking for with this price with a 5 year guarantee and maybe a DVD player included.

    Hi JIT,

I too am looking at buying one of these babies and have similarly found prices around £1500. TBH, I don't think we're going to get it any better.

I did manage to find it cheaper at www.avshopdirect.co.uk (around £1449.99 Inc VAT + Free SD110E DVD Player) but I was recommended not to use them as a supplier due to their poor service record.

People were complaining about long delivery timescales and very poor after sales if anything went wrong with it.

I think www.prcdirect.co.uk did it for around £1499.95 inc VAT but no added extras.

Let me know if you find it cheaper.

    Regards

I am thinking about getting one of these, but am loathed to buy something that has features I have elsewhere. This TV has Dolby Digital, yet I have that already on my Denon 3801 :-(

So, are there any other recommendations for a TV with such excellent reviews/picture quality?

    Gavin

qed-uk.com are advertising 42WHKIT for £1496.63 but is this the 42WH18B as there is no picture and no mention of free DVD player. Anyone clear this up?

sorry...bit late to this thread but for the benefit of anyone searching in future, yeah the 42WHKIT is their own code for the 42wh18b and the dvd player.

got myself one from these very people just before christmas (well...you have to treat yourself, don't you!) and is a beauty.

Hmmm...has to be said theres no mention of the dvdplayer anymore. i guess it may have been a special offer because the tv had only just come out back then, but the product code is definitely the same (as is the price). worth a phone call i suspect.

What about the 42PW23P, same as the 42WH18B but without DD5.1 and 100Hz and cheaper. I think this looks like a good buy, anyone else?
Would no 100Hz really make a big difference?
Most people who buy a RPTV already have a seperate amp so this only being a NICAM set isn't really a big loss.
