Can you provide more details like your viewing habits, do you watch SD? There are too many good plasmas and LCDs around to give suggestions.
The LG 42LG30 was a replacement for the TECHNIKA LCD42-207 42" HD Digital LCD TV (Tescos) that had a fault)
Was looking at the the SAMSUNG 42 PS42A457 and had read some good reviews, but was recommended the LG instead (Richer Sounds).
Not entirely happy with the picture it the usual problems trying to get the skin tones to look right.
With the LG it has fewer pixels then than Technika which is visible to me.
We have only had the TV for 3 days and the picture keeps turning off, not sure if we have a faulty SKY box until the engineer takes a look.
The TV is going to be used mainly for watching standard and HD programmes from Sky and DVD Recorder/Player
Thanks in advance
Since the title of your post says "Best 42" LCD or plasma", are you really looking for the best of each technologies? What is the budget you have for your 42 incher? Have you decided on an LCD?
The TECHNIKA was a 42" LCD but had a fault, the LG is a plasma.
Think I prefer LCD than Plasma and looking at around the £600 price - Nothing that has just hit the shelves or a reduction.
My LG 42LG30 Plasma I still cannot the colours right yet.
Is it me or is it a lot of TVs the skin/face tones are to pink/red ?
Thanks
