What is the best 40"- 45" display (plasma or LCD) for the following uses:

Freeview via Nebula or Black Gold card.
DVD/Xvids or HD TS files via Theatertek or WMP.

Will the display work at 50Hz and 60Hz at is native res via DVI?
1:1 pixel matching with the correct aspect ratio (16:9)?

    Thanks

I use my Media Center with a Panasonic 37" PW7 plasma, connected via DVI, can adjust refresh to 50 or 60hz and use desktop resolution of 1024 x 576... it looks fab to me!

I bought the plasma 7 months ago, it is Standard Definition, they do High Definition models now.... what is the best display I wouldn't like to say, best to check out the Plasma and LCD forums.

The Panny PV500 would have to be a contender but, as already said, have a look in the plasma & LCD forums.

    Thanks for the suggestions.

Lisag, is the desktop ok with the res of 1024 x 576?

I've posted on the other forums but with no response.

I leaning towards the Samsung 40" Lcd.

I need to make the plunge!!!

Yes it works fine at that resolution,
I tried quite a few before settling on that one,
But windows and surfing is very readable from the sofa.

Good luck with your choice of screen,
    It is a big decision,
Took me about six months to actually part with the cash,
But I am v happy with it,
    These forums were invaluable,
They are a helpful bunch on the plasma forum,
Don't know much about big LCD's though,
    Except they cost loads.....!
