I would like you guys to vote for your favourite widescreen TV from your favourite manufacturer. To narrow it down a little, please only select one that is available in a 32" version, but it can be 50Hz or 100Hz with as many or as little extras as you like. Cost doesn't matter either.

Please list the manufacturer, name of model, whether it's 50Hz or 100Hz and the price you paid.

I'll try and compile all votes and make up a Top 10 or so.

Let's get the votes in then,
    Oliver.

I vote for my only, and therefore favourite, 32 inch: Toshiba 32ZD26.

It is 100Hz but, I have always thought, it has a 50Hz setting. And it has prog scan, and it can hide lots of black stuff.

ps please dont tell me there is a better one for the money (£850 in John Lewis price match) as I want to enjoy this for at least a year ...

Thank you for all your replies so far. Keep them coming!!!

It seems that Loewe is mentioned a lot. I'm sure there are other popular manufacturers out there. Go on, let me know.

Are you all done? No more suggestions?

Just to re-iterate: I'm compiling a list of people's favourite 32" widescreen TVs. Send in the manufacturer, model name, whether it's 50Hz or 100Hz and much you paid.

Go on - keep them coming!

    Oliver.

Loewe Aventos 3981ZW 100hz, the same as some of the dearer Loewes but with a cheaper case. Cost £950 without the stand.

Loewe Aventos £1050 for totally buzz free, perfect geometry and convergence, v. good RGB picture.

Toshiba 32ZD26 for outright RGB picture but sadly let down by too many faults none of which my Loewe aventos has.

    It is looking that way.

After two top of the range Sony's and a top of the range Philips, I am just gutted that it took me so long to find out how good they are.

I think we have a winner and it's... drumroll... Loewe.

Well, I've not yet counted which one, but Loewe is obviously the most popular manufacturer of high-quality 32" widescreen TVs.

Well, keep them coming for a little longer - and let's get some Panasonics, Philips or Sonys in. :)

    Oliver.

    ...well, you guessed it: Loewe.

    Here are the results:

    1. Loewe Articos Platinum 100hz (£1,740 - £2,099) - 3 votes
    2. Loewe Aconda 9381 100Hz (£1,520 - £1,890) - 2 votes
    3. Loewe Vitros 6381ZW 100Hz (£1220) - 1 vote
    Loewe Aventos (£1,050) - 1 vote
    Toshiba 32ZD26 - 1 votes
    Loewe Aventos 3981ZW 100hz - 1 vote
    Loewe Vitros 6381ZW Basalt (£1,148.99) - 1 vote
    Loewe Articos Basalt 100Hz (£2,600) - 1 vote

Well, there we go. Not as exciting as I would have hoped. Loewe is obviously a very good manufacturer of widescreen TVs - but it may be too expensive for many - including myself. :(

    Oliver.
