Hi,

I'm in the market for a 32 inch LCD. Research I've done to date leads me to believe the Hitachi 32LD7200 is a cracking little number.

Is anyone aware of any better?

Thanks guys

Belaggio, take a look at the Sony V32 bravia range, i am probably biased but i got one about 3 weeks back and it's awesome. The sound is not hot but then is any LCD but mine is wired to an external amp. Bought it from Stone Audio after no one could get a supply, top class with customer service and attitide received within 24hours of order.....

For further info look for the Sony V series users thread.

32WLT58 takes it with me on the options alone, please read

Thats the one I`m going for. I understand what `johnandjen` stated about the colour of the set,the gunmetal is a little disapointing but at the end of the day,if you want a set that just looks good, probably silver, then Sainsbury`s is the pace for you and why is a set thats over £1000 within consideration!
Vanity asside, (who knows, you might love gunmetal), if you want a LCD that has a host of manual picture enhancement funtions as opposed to manufacturer controlled (Sony:Light Sensor take note!) and 2 HD sockets, that is the set that will perform well in the future. You can even manually adjust levels of Red,Green,Blue,Yellow,Magenta,Cyan - for Chri*** sake. It doesnt get better than that.Does it?...
Err,yes..
Subwoofer Out
Auto channel change through your `Freeview`timer
Stable Sound - control higher volume levels when films cut to commercials
to name a few..

And one for ladies because we love em....

Cable Tidy Clips - lads take note when your dragging her around Comet on a Saturday and all she says is "Can we go now". Point them out and she will love you for it..and of course, and more importantly, she will love the telly.

I have always had Sony tv`s until now, but now I have seen the light.
Toshiba-the tv enthusiasts telly. Now,wheres my credit card..........

Both Panasonic TX-32LXD500 and Loewe Concept L32 LCD's are getting very good write ups. :smashin:

I would also look at the Loewe Xelos A32. Broadly similar to the Loewe Concept but with a four speaker sound system that's really good especially for an LCD.

I have a Samsung LE26R41BDX 26" Greenwich II LCD TV. I have my PC/consoles and a Toshiba SD-520E DVD player hooked up to it and it's simply a gorgeous set. But i don't know how the larger 32inch LCD matches up ??

add the JVC32DS6 to your list too.

This is the fun part - building the list of candidates.

IMO, the next thing to do is go and see them in the flesh - with your partner if you have one. Not to judge picture quality, just aesthetics. You'll probably write off some and prefer others, simply on whether they'll suit your lounge or not.

Yes, performance should be the main criteria, but many of these sets perform within 5% of each other, so differences can be minor (albeit amplified by subjective/owner opinion). And whether you can live with the set day to day is important.

After you've done that, you can filter down based on inputs, reviews, performance, price blah blah.

Have fun!

Bought my Hitachi 7200 and am so so happy with it.

Seen the Sony V and new Panny and would not swap them for my cheaper 7200.

DVI - HDMI - COMPONENT - 3 X SCART ( 2 RGB ) - S VIDEO - VGA !

Motorised stand the absolute big boy daddy LCD, but hey dont just take my word read the reviews...........
