    The options so far:
    Samsung LE32R74BDX
    Toshiba 32WLT66
I'll be using a separate sound system so sound quality isn't a problem.
The tv will mainly be used for SD Sky, possibly HD in the future; Wii games over 480p Component; and SD DVDs. Good PC input would be useful as well.
I've read that the Samsung has motion blurring, but 1:1 pixels for vga; and only has 1 HDMI socket.
The Toshiba has 2 HDMIs and less reports of blurring but has buzzing problems and supposedly bad vga support.

Also I might get a 26" version of either tv to save space+money and have a higher dpi

    All LCDs have motion blurring.

If you are going to watch almost exclusively SD stuff then get a CRT - the LCD technology isn't there yet for good SD viewing.

Plasma is better than LCD but still not as good as CRT for SD material.

But neither Plasma or LCD have any geometry issues. I would say if you're planning almost exclusive off air SDTV like Sky or Freeview, go Plasma without a doubt. Both Plasma and LCD are great for DVDs and of course they can do HD. I'd personally opt for Plasma.
