Buying today!
Is it still the 32d3000 and if so, where is the best place to buy one from? As JL don't appear to sell them anymore:(

Cheers

S3000 will do the job just fine imo. I can provide the best settings if you wish

Thanks Nielo, so even though the S doesn't have 100hz (helps with blurring motion flow) it's still good at handling SD for fast moving images ie football?

Cheers!

I have the Sony KDL-26P2530 with three old panel technology (PVA), and it absolutely fine for watching sport. In other words, the S3000 will do just fine. Just apply these settings

Picture:

Backlight: 5
Brightness: 50
Contrast: 87
Color: 45/50
Sharpness: MIN
Color Temp: Normal/Standard
Noise Reduction: OFF
Color Space: Standard

Audio:

sound Mode: BBE Viva
Bass: 50
Tone/trable: 100

Other:

Energy Saving: Reduce

If I've missed anything, let me know

Are those settings good for the 26T3000 too? :)

Thanks. I only have a scart lead and no HDMI - and a crummy booster plug in set top aerial until the Virgin is fitted on Saturday (normal not V+ box) Assume the settings still go? :)

I couldn't find the following highlighted on the 26T in the menu?

Picture Adjustment:

* Mode: Custom
* Backlight: 5
* Contrast: 87
* Brightness: 51
* Color: 45
* Sharpness: MIN
* Color Temperature/Tone: Natural
* Color Space: Standard
* Noise Reduction: Off

Sound Adjustment:

* Sound Effect/Mode: BBE Viva
* Treble: MAX/100
* Bass: 50
* Auto Volume: Off (user preference)

Features:

* Power Saving: Reduce
* Advanced Contrast Enhancement (Backlight Dimming): Off

That's because you have to switch the picture mode to custom

On the remote, find the button that controls the picture mode. It's next to the sound mode.

If your remote is similir to mine, it should be near the top

My set appears to have only vivid, standard and cinema in picture mode

or sorry

Go to settings > highlight picture mode > press right or ok and you shoud see a drop-down menu

Yep, done that ... just those three settings ...we are a little :offtopic: now

ya we are lol

But you shoud get all the options. When I got mine, I had the same issue, but I managed to change it to custom.

anyone got any links to the cheapest D3000?
Good question. The prices are still pretty high - £599 here and at EmpireDirect.

I'm going for the Panasonic LXD85 - can be had for the same price and I really liked my last Panasonic (LXD70).
