    Hey All

I am after a new LCD that will be used mostly for Xbox 360 and PC, it will also have a SD sky box attached but it will be rarely used so i am not going to be too upset if this does not look A1. I am thinking along the lines of the samsung R7 range but dont know if there are problems with PC on this one like there are on the Tosh WLT66 range.

If anyone knows of any sales or online retailers i can check out i would appreciate it. I am aware of one good one called digitaldirect.co.uk but they dont seem to do 26" or samsung so any other suggestions?

    Many thanks :)

Just bought a Samsung LE27S73BDX which works very well with PC and XBOX. Hispek.com have them for £499.

I'm in a very similiar situation, I've currently got a 17" LCD monitor which I only use for my PC. I've just got a Wii and need a TV to play it on really, I've kept my eye out for a bigger LCD monitor anyway so I've been looking to satisfy both in one go. I've heard it's a compromise on both parts, i.e. a LCD TV not acting as well as a LCD monitor when used on a PC and vice versa when used as a TV. The WLT66 pixelmapping is also an issue I've come across, but looking at this it seems it will do it over a DVI->HDMI cable. But perhaps other LCD TVs would function better as a monitor, my only issue with the Samsung is poor sound. I'm quite tempted to go for a cheapest 26" now, such as the Hanns G which some companies like OcUK and Dabs do an ownbrand version for ~£340, but when you consider the Toshiba and Samsung 26"ers versions now selling at £499 it's a difficult choice.

the real issue is with using tv's as pc monitors at less than 4ft viewing distance a 26" 1366x768 is horrible, you can see each individual pixel, hence why i'm getting the benq when it hits £600

Does anyone here know if Sony 26 KDL26U2000U is a good buy for £399?

It will be used for gaming and PC too.

I'm thinking of ordering an LE26R74BDX as a secondary screen, mainly for 360 use. Does anyone know if the backlight is alterable when running over VGA? (I believe it's called Energy Saver mode on this set) The Samsung's predecessor - the LExxR41BDX - didn't have this option whilst using the VGA input...

    I got a Samsung LE26R73BDX last week (Currys/Dixons/PCWorld version of the R74).

Currently using it for my 360 (component) & SD Sky (RGB SCART).

    I love it.

Price comparisons & reviews for the LE26R74BDX at Pricerunner: http://www.pricerunner.co.uk/sound-and-vision/vision/tv/586528/prices

It's had 5/5 reviews with What HiFi, Stuff, Computer Shopper & others.

Have a look at another one of his posts here. I'm quite interested in this too, now the LE26R74BDX can be had for £472 I'm unsure, heard that U Series Sonys aren't great. wiki indicates it won't do 1:1 on a PC using 1366xxxx, totally  now.

I don't know about the U series - I have the S series (KDL26S2010) which I highly recommend. I think there is now a version with an all-black casing. The Bravias as more expensive than the Sammy R series - but definitely better if you can afford it. You get significantly mroe customisation options on the Sony.

If it is true that Makro have them it is still way cheaper than anyone else even with the VAT....£468.83

    Or even cheaper, http://www.andreas-electronics.com/home.php?cat=264 have the Sony 26 KDL26U2000U on for £357.10 after 30% voucher discount(AE817QW), but I wouldn`t recommend them !!

Like a couple of other replies I also have a Sony 26S2010. I use it with my 360 via component, PS3 via HDMI and PC as a secondary display through VGA.

I'm very happy with the TV and have had it since March last year.
Some old test photo's of it in action with both X360 and PC below, took them ages ago but they should give you an idea.
