Hi, I am looking to buy a projector for the Xbox 360 when it comes out also for my computer and to watch DVD's. I was wondering what was the best projector for under £500. I found this BenQ PE5120 for £399 and was wondering if it would do the job for me?

    Thanks.
    Gareth.

Where can you get the 5120 for £399?? Is that minus VAT?

I'm thinking of getting one. I've got a Toshiba ET1 in my bedroom which I love but I'm getting a portable screen for the living room and don't fancy moving ET about too much. I had heard a lot about the 5120 and quite fancied it.....bit wary of the rainbows and the dust problems I've read about though.

There is absolutely nowhere near me to demo DLP projectors so I really have to take gambles on what people on these forums think about things

What about dust and rainbow problems? Please inform me. :smashin:

Anyway, the BenQ 5120 has won budget projector of the year, so I am sure it's pretty nifty.

It's £468 including VAT which is still a great deal at Ebuyer.com

The 5120 only has a 2x colour wheel speed so it is more likely to produce visible rainbow artifacts if you are one of those people that are sensitive to them.

Actually I am pretty sure i have read that the 5120 has a 3 speed 5 colour wheel, making rainbow effects less common.

I think they say 3x wheel on the marketing blurb, but in reality, it's 2x.
