Hi After 4 hours use last night, daughter watched a movie, i watched the footie, my proj, ticked about 4 times and the lamp light came on. i thought S@$t, its only had 40hours on the bulb life.

i was running econo mode, the pj is sat on a coffee table infront of me and there was no problem with air flow.

After having a panic read through the manual i waited till it cooled down and switched on eveything seemed ok

has this happened to any one else should i contact Benq about it????

also i have tried to get my HTPC running power strip to use native resolution the PC says its correct but the PJ outputs at 640 x 480 and doesn't do a good job at it.
anyone any thought on that one

    Jon

It won't do any harm in telling Benq what happened.
Remember... Lamps only have 90 days warranty.

I've got an HTPc/powerstrip setup using DVI-D to my 5120.
The PJ wont accept 848x480 but will on 856x480 @ 50 hz for PAL

I just selected the powerstrip custom 856x480 res and then went to the custom timings to change to 50 hz. I've played with all the timings and whilst video is excellent text has been almost impossible to get perfect - given the res and PJ design Im not surprised tho and this shouldnt be an issue

PQ is excellent although after testing I am seeing v slightly more jaggies/pixellation on the HTPC than when via dvd/component. HTPC pic is sharper and more vibrant (via Dscaler)
