Hi Benji, Did Sony give you a delivery date for these bad boys yet ? And more importantly, are you able to give us the preorder price ?
I'm giving the AE700 a miss and I'll happily pay the extra not to have VB nightmares !
    Cheers, Rob.

 A rather wishy washy review of the HS51 is up on the www.projectorcentral.com website now. They're reviews are truly weak compared to Cine4home or Widescreen Review.
I'm glad I've got a HTPC judging by this review.
    Cheers, Rob.

The iScan 'must' plug is totally objectionable.

Benji- Please if possible would you check 50Hz and 75Hz 16:9 720p analogue RGBHV from HTPC (Powerstrip) or scaler.

Also glad i have a hcpc if i go the Sony route, i am also glad that they mention the shadow detail even though it appears to be just one movie that it was reviewed with.

i was a bit peed about the mention that this is quite a loud projector :(

after spending silly money on my PC to keep it really quiet, if the proj is going to sound like a jet engine, thats ar5e :(

ho hum, i still think that this proj will offer *superb* PQ from my HTPC, and that is what we only really care about after all.

Benji, get your act in gear ;)

Looks more like a sales pitch for the Iscan to me  .

Pretty contradictory review on the whole IMO but it still confirms just how much potential the Sony has.

Squeezing 6000:1 contrast from an LCD projector is amazing. Can't wait for your thoughts benji.

I have heard that Sony have only had 5 units hit the UK shores!

I hope they are looking to sell these sooner rather then later, its getting a bit stupid now.

    Hi Everyone :hiya:

    A little newbie question...

HS50 in EU is the Same as HS 51 in USA?
    No difference at all?

    Thanks for your time

The HS51 apparently has an ethernet port so you can use some image software on your PC to set the PJ up - the HS50 lacks this.
No idea why - presumably it would have been cheaper to design and make one global model - go figure (there's probably a good reason somewhere in the ether)
