As you will see from my sig HiFi has been my priority but I have recently began building a home cinema setup with the introduction of an HD-XE1, the picture from which is stunning. I am now giving some thought to the 5.1 side of things and would like some feedback on my thoughts. I have about a grand to spend on speakers and amp and am considering two routes for the speakers. First a 5.1 sattelite approcah and secondly a matching Proac centre and some sattelite rears + sub. Bearing in mind I will be spending about 350 on the amp and that Proac Centres ocassionaly turn up for about 225-250, what would be my best option. If using a Proac Centre, I would be effectively be using a different amp for the front L,R and the rest. Would this offset the benefit of having full-sized front three speakers?

    Cheers.
