Where is the best place to download a free benchmarking tool for a PC?
go here m8 and take your pick
It's a slippery slope once you start benchmarking that can be very expensive
Sisoft Sandra http://www.sisoftware.co.uk/ to benchmark the whole system rather than just the GFX power.
Billy Hunt is right though, don't benchmark as it will only make you upgrade again and again
Cheers for your input - i downloaded 3dmark06 and scored 5074 - which was sixth on the list for similar setups. How can i improve on the computer settings? My ATI driver is up to date. I tried one a download from GameXP which was supposed to optimize my PC for games but after running that the benchmark went down to 4774???
PS my system - X1900XT 512MB, Athlon duel core 3800+, Asus A8R32-MVP Deluxe Crossfire, G.Skill 2GB DDR ZX PC3200 (2x1GB)
Get a decent cpu. That will beef up your score mate.
The futuremark forums are a good place for advice.
I quickly found out I couldn't keep up with the cost of it all and have let things slip quite a lot.
But the basic advice will go something like get a newer GFX card and CPU and more memory.
There are a few custom drivers knocking around to squeeze that extra little bit out, Guru3d are good for stuff like that but it's never enough.
