I decided to sit down and watch Tropic Thunder on Bluray this evening.

Bunged it in the PS3, and was greeted by one of those interminable 'Loading...' screens.

When the counter hit 100 percent.... Nothing. The screen went blank, and started flashing 'NO SIGNAL'

The PS3 was still whirring away though.

So I rebooted it, but..... Nothing again.

My PS3 (a launch model 60gb - upgraded to 120gb) is now deceased. It has died, and will probably soon go to meet its maker.

It powers up, the fans whirr, but nothing appears on screen, no sound, nothing. I've swapped the HDD out, but still nowt.

So - beware that Ben Stiller bloke!

How much does it cost for a repair, generally?

It MIGHT be your cables, but I highly doubt that :(

Just phone Sony, they're still repairing/swapping 60gb free of charge.......

Tropic Thunder..... little wonder it broke...:D

Lol, I had the same thought :p

For the OP; here's the Sony customer services number: 08705 998877

A PSN friend of mine, his launch PS3 died early January and had to wait 3 weeks for a 60GB replacement. Just got it back Thursday.

I watched Tropic Thunder 2 days ago, pretty funny film.

Does Tropic Thunder have BD+ DRM on it.

If so could it be this that knackered it?.

(I am thinking of a possible resurgence the music DRM Rootkit trojan fiasco when I post this)
