    Hi,
I have a NTL/Virgin cable broadband modem linked to my PC with cat5 cable and also to a Belkin 54g wireless router, with which I received a Belkin wireless USB adapter. I also have a wireless laptop.
I have no problem with internet access on any one device at any one time.
I have no problem using the main PC directly to the internet together with either the Laptop or the adapter on another PC .
But, if I am already connected to the internet on either of the remote devices, when I try to connect and especially with the laptop, then that connection is unable to be made... until I reset the 54g router.

The signal level is very good. All PC are running XP.
I recently saw a message on Virgin saying there were issues with Belkin and to check updates.
I have checked Belkin site for any updates but there don't seem to be any for the router, there was one for the adapter.
I have checked the configuration and changed channel. The IP address is on auto .. BUT at one point I did see a message on the laptop saying another user was using the same IP address...
SO, is this normal... is there a IP connection clash or do I have a device problem ?

I had a Belkin router and it crashed all the time needing it to be rebooted. Like you say it showed up as a very good connection but wouldn't work until rebooted. I have come to the conclusion that Belkin routers aren't very good and I now have a D-Link router which I have had since mid December and suffered no problems
