Beginner wants to watch sport.

I'm assuming that a similar question has already been asked by someone here, but I was unable to find it. If this is the case I am sorry.
Anyway... I live in London and would like to watch as much sport as possible (mainly football and tennis) preferably in HD or 3D where possible. I was told to look in to getting a satellite by a friend, but so far every site I've been on hasn't really explained anything.
Any advice on which box to buy in order to be able to record from a satellite, and what kind of satellite I would be best off getting?
Thanks.

Hi and welcome to the forum.
There are several recent and current threads on exactly this subject.
The easiest way to do what you want is to pay a subscription to Sky BSB who will provide and instal the dish, cabling, and receiver, that you require, free of charge.
In any case that's what you need, a dish, not a satellite which would set you back about a milllion.
If you don't want to go for the Sky sports channels then there are European ones that you could receive.
Here is a company that specialises in them: purplesat and you'd find more local suppliers in Yellow Pages.
