    Hi all,

Was looking for some advice regarding a nice pair of bookshelfs, beech effect for my living room, ideally want some quality bass and punchy hi's. Just looking for opinions I have a price ranger upto about £150 for a pair but will happily go significantly higher if I find something really nice.

Also, it's a light beech I'm looking for as I have the Ikea Oppli...

I have the same stand (well... the Lack model which is just one shelf high instead of two) in the same colour and my Mordaunt Short 904 floorstanders in Maple go very well with it (almost spot-on colour match in fact). For bookshelf's you'd be looking at the 902's which I don't own so can't comment on their sound.

Tannoy F1 customs may suffice, i've heard more bass from other speakers but for around £100 not many better all round packages.

    Thanks Micky/ Lelykins...
...I shall have a look based on your advice. Much appreciated.

Micky, the Mordaunt 902's I found seem to be more pine looking the 'avant' series seems to be the beech one, would that be right as far as you're aware?

    Cheers again.
