You could look at 15" Kiss Technology Widescreen TFT KST152W its £269.08 inc vat at www.scan.co.uk it doesnt have a tv tuner, but accepts s-video, c-video and RGB.
I dont know the quality of it, but could find out, one of my friends bought one for his PC, to carry around to other peoples houses.

24" is probably smaller than you think - it's not that much bigger depth/heightwise than a 14" 4:3. Go and compare a few :)

My local Sainsbury's (Bristol, St Philips) is doing a 15" LCD TV for £299. Not sure what the quality is like - looked pretty nice though.

I've got the same problem. The space in my built in wardrobe accepts a portable T.V. However anything bigger than that is a no go! Really wanted a 24" widescreen in there.
A reasonable size LCD that I can also run a computer through would be the key - just as long as it doesn't cost the earth.
